DADS AND MOMS OF MICHIGAN AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI - DADS and MOMS of Michigan announces the 2006 award recipients for service in supporting the role of family in supporting a healthy Michigan State and place to live and raise a family, promoting parents in children's lives. The recipients have demonstrated extraordinary dedication and commitment to serving the Michigan community to mentor families and children, improve state agency services, and advocate for parent involvement in children's lives. The award recipients received special recognition at the DADS and MOMS of Michigan Annual Gala and Awards Banquet at the Westin Hotel in Southfield.

Michigan's children and family are challenged with an increased divorce rate and unwed parent situation. Children are suffering while State agencies focus on maintaining the status quo as family separates. Children are loosing their parent and family identity, programmed by the media and government. Family values, the protection and moral compass of parents, are being sub-optimized with layered government intervention.

The recognized Legislators and Community Service people in Michigan have taken bold action to make a difference in children's lives, and make a difference for all families in Michigan.

Dads and MOMS of Michigan includes DADS of Michigan, Moms of Michigan, and Dads of Michigan PAC. These are responsible parent education and advocacy organizations respectively which are dedicated to keeping both biological parents actively engaged in the lives of their children despite divorce and custody, in most instances. Dads of Michigan is the developer of the DADS and MOMS University of education programs for families and children, despite divorce and custody, in most instances; and is the Michigan affiliate of the American Coalition for Fathers and Children. They believe men and women should be viewed equally under the law and their credo is: "fathers are responsible parents too...because the best parent is both parents."
