DADS of Michigan
and MOMS of Michigan
is sponsoring several programs to help families navigate
through family court, parent children, maintain peace
and avoid conflict, and stay connected with their children.
The DADS and MOMS University of responsible education
is for teenage, divorced, unmarried parents, grandparents,
step parents, and children of divorce or separation.
This educational curriculum employs several unique features
designed to either directly or indirectly benefit nearly
2 million men, women, grandparents and step parents,
and just under one-half million children each year in
Michigan.
EDUCATION OFFERINGS

Parenting Plans and Visitation: This program provides an understanding of the Custody and Visitation Guidelines and the effect on a parenting time arrangement.
Major Topics: Custody and Visitation Guidelines, types of parenting arrangements, developing a parenting plan (parenting time arrangement), negotiating the plan, modification, and enforcement.
Objectives: (1) Develop a basic understanding of the Michigan Custody and Visitation Guidelines. (2) Provide an overview of the various parenting arrangements. (3) understand how to prepare a parenting plan. (4) How to negotiate a parenting time arrangement using self, mediation, legal counsel, courts. (5) Determine to conditions and mechanics for changing a parenting time arrangement. (6) How to enforce a parenting time arrangement.

FAMILY COURT PROGRAMS
These programs provide
education and training on navigating and becoming effective
in family court, Friend of the Court, and mediation
sessions.
Family Court Basics: This program provides a basic overview of family court
procedures, processes and tools.

Child Support Soup
to Nuts: This program will help you understand
the foundation for establishing child support basic
overview of family court procedures, processes and tools.
- Major Topics: Child support
fundamentals, calculating child support, change of
circumstances, consequences of non-payment.
- Objectives: (1) Develop a basic
understanding of the rules and guidelines for child
support. (2) Determine how to calculate child support.
(3) Determine the circumstances to modify a child
support order. (4) Develop a basic understanding of
the laws governing child support administration.

UNWED PARENT PROGRAMS
These programs provide education,
information, and training for unwed parents. There are
personal and legal affects that are unique in unwed
parent situations; i.e; co-habitation, separation, health
care, parenting.
DIVORCE PROGRAMS
These programs provide education,
information, tools, tips and training for parents anticipating
divorce or experiencing post divorce problems and issues.
PARENTING PROGRAMS
These programs provide education,
information, and training to boost your parenting skills,
especially when time and finances are stretched.
CHILD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
These programs are designed for children
to help them cope with separation and divorce, and to
increase their esteem.
